It is with great confidence that I provide this review of Buildster’s performance on project EST09949 RAAF WLM A0173, where I served as the Project Manager. Throughout the engagement, Buildster demonstrated a high level of professionalism, collaboration, and commitment to achieving a successful outcome. The project is a direct reflection of the team on the ground, and Buildster’s personnel has been exceptional.
I want to give special recognition to two key individuals who were instrumental in the project’s success: Brendan Stout and Louis Robinson. Brendan Stout, in his capacity as the on-site lead, provided exemplary leadership. He was a pragmatic and effective problem-solver, consistently addressing site challenges with a calm and solutions-focused approach. Brendan’s ability to manage site operations and personnel was critical in maintaining the project’s schedule and upholding quality standards. He was our go-to partner on the ground, and his reliability was a cornerstone of the project’s momentum. Complementing Brendan’s on-site management was Louis Robinson as the Contract Administrator. Louis’ management of the project’s commercial and contractual aspects was meticulous. He showed remarkable foresight by proactively ensuring all parties had a crystal-clear understanding of the scope, which prevented numerous potential issues. Furthermore, his adaptability and commercial acumen were invaluable when we faced variations; he consistently presented well-reasoned, viable solutions that allowed us to move forward without delay.
The seamless collaboration between Brendan and Louis was a testament to Buildster’s effective team structure. With Brendan expertly managing the physical works and Louis ensuring the project’s commercial integrity, we had a robust and reliable partnership that I, as Project Manager, could depend on. In summary, our experience with Buildster was overwhelmingly positive. I would highly recommend their services and would not hesitate to work with them again, particularly with a team led by individuals of Brendan and Louis’s calibre.
Thanks for everything guys. It’s been an absolute pleasure working with you. Hopefully, we can achieve HOTO early next year before the change of contracts.
Hi Peter, great to see the finished fence today during the defect walk. Buildster have done an excellent job and Commander Shane Doyle is very happy with the result. Thank you.
In June 2024, The Department engaged Buildster to undertake fire rectification works on an existing 2 storey building, located in a live and operational facility. Works included demolition of badly damaged areas, followed by the replacement or restoration of flooring, walls, ceilings, roofing, doors and joinery and some envelop works. Service works included replacement/restoration of damaged communication, security, electrical, fire and mechanical systems and replacement/restoration of furniture, fittings and equipment. The last six months of working with Buildster has been a positive experience, with the company delivering the project to standard, schedule, scope and budget. They were flexible and staged their works well. The crew working on site quickly built excellent working relationships with local staff at the centre. I have found Buildster to be professional, honest and reliable and to have a strong work ethic and pride in their work. I was impressed at how quickly they picked up the nuances of working in an operational centre and their responsiveness and resilience when working through challenging site issues. Thank you for a job very well done.
Thank you to the Buildster team for your efforts with this challenging building and care taken with its heritage aspects and also with the compilation of the required documentation. Great work with the heritage induction slides also, was good to see these!
Great result David. Another exceptional project delivery from team Buildster.
Buildster demonstrated excellent performance across all aspects of the project, consistently delivering works to a high standard. The contractor effectively managed the project program, achieving key milestones while proactively mitigating delays. A well-resourced and experienced team was maintained throughout, with strong coordination of subcontractors and suppliers ensuring efficient site operations.
Project documentation and administration were handled to a high standard, with clear, timely communication supporting effective decision-making. Buildster maintained a professional and cooperative approach with all stakeholders, while demonstrating outstanding commitment to work health and safety, environmental management, and industrial relations. The quality of the finished product met all specifications, supported by a robust quality assurance system, with any defects addressed promptly. Overall, Buildster’s performance reflects a highly capable contractor, and they would be strongly recommended for future projects.
I would like to highlight Buildster’s professionalism when it comes to their site for project EST09949. Throughout this project Buildster has provided clear and precise communication, has identified issues and provided solutions and has maintained a clean and tidy site both in the construction zone and site laydown.
I’d like to say thank you to the Buildster team. There has been minimal issues with airside compliance throughout the project.
Buildster’s performance in the delivery of the Villawood Immigration Detention Centre works was outstanding and was praised by all stakeholders, including those on site. Projects within Immigration Detention Centres require clear and timely communication, as well as the ability to respond to unexpected site circumstances, which Buildster managed exceptionally well.
Communication throughout the delivery, both in writing and through meetings, was clear and consistent, and the final product was of a high standard. They were also proactive during the defects liability period, which largely involved changes requested by end users outside the original scope.
The Buildster team were professional, enthusiastic, and hard-working at all stages of the project. Clear communication and ongoing engagement meant that issues were resolved promptly and with minimal effort.
The team went above and beyond to minimise disruption to the rest of the building, maintaining a tidy, safe, and orderly worksite at all times. We are very satisfied with the finished product, and would recommend Buildster for any future works of this nature.
Following my walk through yesterday the works looked great and I received some positive feedback from Defence relating to the project and for building 103. The staff had some very positive words to say about Chris and his interactions with them. I wanted to pass on for your awareness that your teams efforts (Gareth, David, Luke and Chris) are being recognised. Thanks Gents, let’s keep up the good work!
